READ: Mark Zuckerberg huge fan of Xi Jinping's book

2014-12-09 ThatsBJ城市漫步
Facebook may be banned in China, but that hasn't stopped CEO Mark Zuckberg from bringing a little bit of Middle Kingdom flair to the company's California offices. Green tea? Calligraphy posters? No, Zuck is all about Xi Jinping's The Governance of China book.

According to a report by the Business Spectator, Mr. Zuckerberg is quoted as saying, "I bought copies of this book [The Governance of China] for my colleagues. I want them to understand socialism with Chinese characteristics." Congratulations are in order for Zuckerberg, who is the first person to use that phrase un-ironically since 2007.

Zuckerberg made the comments in a meeting with Lu Wei, China's head censor internet regulator, during Lu's visit to Facebook's offices.

If you thought that Zuckerberg was a big fan of Xi's word craft, wait until you see what Amazon has to say. Xi's book is currently boasting an admirable 4.2 of 5 stars, and the reviews include wonderful excerpts like these (which are 100% real, by the way):

[5 STARS] by Li Po
The funniest book ever published, you will like it if you have that kind of humor.

[5 STARS] by Jinan
even I did not get the book yet, I could guarantee that this is a book worthy u to read

[1 STAR] by Wumao Dang
Unlike the other reviewer who is clearly an NSA plant paid to give the impression that Xi Jinping, or "Uncle Eleven" as he is known by his fans in the Indian subcontinent, is paying shills to promote his book. Shame on you CIA, aren't you busy enough orchestrating the Hong Kong riots? I, on the other hand, have read this book cover to cover eight times, and can safely say that is it hands down Her (Xi's, she's get it?) best book ever. For this reason I am giving it the top ranking of First Star.

There is some top-class trolling going on here. We imagine that at least one of those reviews is by a pseudonymous Zuckerberg.
